FAQs

What is coaching?

The coaching relationship is a conversation between you and a coach. Coaching provides you with a space to feel heard without judgment. The coach will ask questions that prompt self-reflection, helping you to get clarity on what you’d like to change and why. The coach will guide you using an evidence-based process to enable you to figure out the best way for you to get to where you want to be. Throughout this process, the coach will support you to lean into your strengths, challenge the negative beliefs or thought-patterns that are keeping you stuck, and boost your self-confidence. With your permission, the coach will challenge you to move out of your comfort zone and towards behaviour and mindset changes that will set you up for life.

How does a session work?

The content of each session is different depending on what feels important to focus on right then, but each session will generally follow a 6-part process:

  1. Review and reflect on what you’ve achieved since the last session - what went well and what was a challenge

  2. Consider your overall goal/aim and identify the small changes that add up to the overall goal

  3. Identify where you are currently in relation to where you want to be, and the reasons why, as well as strengths that could move you forwards

  4. Consider all of the possibilities and ideas you have to challenge your current thoughts and habits

  5. Create an action plan to work on between sessions

  6. Review the session and close

Is this a weightloss programme?

This isn’t a weight-focused programme and I would consider anyone actively pursuing weightloss to pause that goal for the duration of the programme. This will enable your focus to be on healing your relationship with food and movement. This programme is about changing unhelpful behaviours and habits relating to food and movement. Many of the people who work with me have been in the active pursuit of weightloss and decide to try something different. I am unable to coach anyone currently receiving professional treatment for an eating disorder. Please talk to me about this in our enquiry call if you’re unsure.

Do you have payment plan options?

Yes, please head to the ‘coaching’ page to see my payment plan offer.

Can I have a taster session to see if it’s for me?

I offer a free, 30-minute enquiry call, which can support you to decide if coaching is for you, and if we’re a good fit.

Why is the programme 8 sessions?

Eight sessions allows us to identify what needs attention in your relationship with food and movement, and gives us the space and time to address those fully. The programme isn’t another quick fix, and will require you to be vulnerable in sessions. The programme is designed to help you develop the self-awareness, habits, and commitment that you’ll need to flourish when we finish working together.

How do I know this approach will work?

This programme works by us collaborating to help you identify your food and movement relationship goals. Through my listening and questioning, you’ll develop self-awareness, and create action plans to achieve your goals. Through my active listening, supportive questioning, psychoeducation, and providing feedback, you’ll gain the confidence to drive your own development and progress, rather than me simply telling you what to do.

As with any therapeutic approach, to work it requires vulnerability, trust, and a belief that you are worth investing in. Ask me more about this in our enquiry call!
