Why am I passionate about food and movement freedom?

As someone who was stuck in the binge and restrict diet cycle for 17 years, I feel passionate about supporting other women to rebuild their relationship with food and movement. Diet culture has us believe that the only way we’ll ever be “healthy” is if we cut things out, and that the only reason to exercise is to lose weight. I truly believe, and know, that when we learn how to eat and move intuitively, we can live life to the full, and be free from diets.

Using my food freedom principles, as well as my personal and professional experience, I can support you to make that mindset shift to a happier, healthier relationship with food and movement, and ultimately, with yourself.

Not a quick fix

We’re often sold the lie that we just haven’t found the right diet, we don’t have the “willpower” and it’s as simple as eating healthily. Diets and exercise often result in short-term weightloss, but they often make our relationship with food and movement worse, reducing food to calories, and movement to calorie-burning. If we think about diet culture as a tree, we’ve all been hit by a branch or two, and the diet industry always has a new quick fix ready to sell you.

With me as your coach, you’ll begin to make the mindset shift that will transform your relationship with food and movement for life.

This work will be hard, you’ll have to dig deep and trust the process, but it’s worth it.

My coaching approach

I believe in being “compassionately direct”. I’m straight-talking, but I care deeply about your unique challenges and life experience. With permission, I’ll challenge your thinking, habits, and narratives as gently or as strongly as you like. I’ll create an environment where you feel empowered to get out of your comfort zone and I’ll celebrate with you when you succeed. I recognise that the work we’ll do together will very much depend on your food and movement history, and your current challenges. We’ll start from a place of understanding exactly what’s going on for you, and we’ll go from there.

You’ll leave each coaching session not only understanding more about your unique challenges, but with the knowledge and confidence to make the small changes that add up to healing your relationship with food and movement. You don’t have to worry about knowing what you want those changes to be or how to make them, we’ll work that out together in our sessions.
